About Rub-A-Dub Dog
Rub-a-Dub Dog is a locally-owned small business. We were the first self-service dog wash to open in Seattle back in 1997. Owner, Carrie Schenken, and the Rub-a-Dub Dog staff focus on providing a comfortable, friendly place for you to wash your dog. We also offer expert nail clipping and gland expression services.

Do I need to bring anything?
We are here to help in any way we can. On your first visit to Rub-a-Dub Dog we will go through the dog-washing process and answer any questions you may have. You will be surprised how easy it is.
Is parking available?
Besides street parking, there are THREE dedicated parking spaces at the rear of the building.
Do I need an appointment for a self-service bath and/or nail trim?
Will someone show me how to wash my dog?
Simply bring your dog on a leash. We provide everything you need to wash your dog including (but not limited to) a wide variety of shampoos and rinses, as many towels as you need, and treats to help make the process a positive experience for your dog. If your dog is aggressive and/or reactive, you will need to have your dog muzzled any time he/she is not restrained in the tub or drying table for the safety of the staff and customer.

Pro Tips for a Safe and Comfortable Visit

Lobby Etiquette: Please keep your dog leashed and maintain space from others while in the building. We do not allow on-leash greetings between dogs indoors.

Aggressive Dogs: If your dog is aggressive and/or reactive, you will need to have your dog muzzled any time he/she is not restrained in the tub or drying table for the safety of the staff and customers.

Respecting other Guests: Always ask before greeting or petting another person's dog. Even friendly dogs may feel stressed in a bath environment.

With Children: We welcome the whole family here! We even offer aprons so the kiddos can help with the bath. We simply ask that you keep your children at your bathing station and that you do not allow them to stand in the tub or on the drying table.

Treats & Allergies: Please do not offer treats to another dog without checking with their owner. Some pups have allergies or sensitivies. If you'd like to know the ingredients in any of our products, just ask - we're happy to provide details.
